【USA】米映画名ぜりふ「ベスト１００」選出へ
米国映画協会（ＡＦＩ）はこのほど、米映画に挿入されたせりふの中から「ベスト１００」を選出する、と発表した。
米国映画の歴史１００年を記念した企画行事。
候補に挙がっているのは、フルトーキーとなった１９２７年の作品「ジャズ・シンガー」の「Wait a minute, wait a minute. You ain't heard nothin' yet!」から、「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング／二つの塔」でゴラムがつぶやく「いとしいしと（My precious.）」まで、年代を超えて多岐にわたっている。
最も多く候補に挙がった映画は「カサブランカ」で、ハンフリー・ボガートの「君の瞳に乾杯（Here's looking at you, kid.）」のほか、
「あれよ“時の移るまま”（Play it, Sam. Play “As Time Goes By.”」
「世界にカフェは何百万もあるのに 彼女が俺の店に（Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.）」
「俺はこんな男だが 狂った世界を黙って見ちゃいられない（Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.）」
「君と幸せだったパリの思い出があるさ（We'll always have Paris.）」
「犯人を捜せ（Round up the usual suspects.）」「今度は きれいな友情が芽ばえそうだな（Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.）」の７つ。
続いて多かったのは「オズの魔法使」で、「トト ここはカンザスじゃないみたいよ（Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas any more.）」「お前と その犬の命はないからね（I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!）」「ライオンに虎に熊？ わあ どうしよう！（Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!」「何てことするんだい？ 溶けちまうじゃないか！（I'm melting! Melting! Oh, what a world! What a world!）」「カーテンの中をのぞくな！（Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!）」「やっぱり おうちが一番だわ（There's no place like home.）」の６つ。
このほか、「風と共に去りぬ」から「知らないね、勝手にするがいい（Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.）」や、「アポロ１３」から「ヒューストン、トラブル発生（Houston, we have a problem.）」、「スター・ウォーズ」から「フォースと共にあらんことを（May the Force be with you.）」など。
また、「第三の男」の「スイスは愛の国だが、５００年の民主主義と平和は何を生んだ？ 鳩時計が精一杯だ（In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, and they had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckooclock.）」や「月の輝く夜に」から「よして！（Snap out of it!）」、「ブレイブハート」から「“我々の命を奪うことはできても─我々の自由は奪えない”と！（They may take away our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!）」などが候補に挙がっている。
俳優として最も候補のせりふが多かったのはハンフリー・ボガートで１０、続いてアル・パチーノとマルクス・ブラザーズの６だった。脚本家としては、ビリー・ワイルダーが最も多く、１３のせりふが候補に入った。
