Today, I got up at 8 to have breakfast. I ate just 2 pieces of bread and drank a cup of coffee. And as soon as I went back to my room, a staff came to my room to clean and make my bed, I thought it's too early and it interrupt my time in my room...but after all I accepted and I asked her to wait for 30 minutes to get out of the room.

Anyway I got out of the room, and took a subway. Actually, there wasn't any ticket counter in all the subway stations, so I didn't buy a ticket to save money, I just had 25 bucks at that time, and I didn't want to withdraw money anymore.

Firstly, I was suppose to MOMA, but it was closed at that time. I don't know why, but I changed my mind not going there, and I walked around there, and finally I went to China town to eat lunch.

After lunch, I went to Hollywood for shopping. I was supposed to buy a nice T-shirt, but I didn't find one, so I just walked around hollywood and went back to downtown.

After sleeping for a while in the motel, I went out for supper, and I found an American family restaurant. I ordered pot roast because it reminded me Doug cooked it for me. But it was quite different from I expected, so I was disappointed a bit, taste itself was good though.

Then, I finished my travel. Tomorrow, I'm going back to Japan. I can't guess what will happen next, maybe there is infinite possibility in front of me. I hope I'll see Japan from a different standing point from other people because the thing what I can do would be different.

Today, I got up at 7, and prepared luggage to check out the hostel, and cook a pancake for breakfast. It was my first time to cook a pancake, I thought it was difficult to maintain the strength of fire, I failed once.

I got on a grey hound bus at 10:30, and arrived in Los Angeles at 16:00. I took a cab to get a motel. The motel was more expensive than youth hostel, obviously, but much more comfortable obviously! Finally I could get my privacy, and my pace! it's like heaven!

I went to Chinese restaurant for dinner, I ordered wontan soup, taste great. And I went to a grocery store for purchacing a bottle of coke, a bag of chips, and an international phone card. After getting the room, I took a shower, and called my friend in Toronto. They were pleased with my phone call, and I enjoyed talking with them.

Oh, I have to make a plan for tomorrow, actually I have few things to do...what should I do? really.

Today, I got up at 9:30, and I tried eating breakfast at kitchen, but I couldn't do it because it was almost closed, so I used my computer, and went out for lunch. Around the hostel there are some people who looked poor or dangerous, so a bit scary.

I've found a very good restaurant in downtown, very cheap, and tasty. I ate grilled chicken with vegitable, mashed potato, a piece of bread, and coffee & a bowl of fruit, just 8$!! incredible! Of course I paid tip.

After that, I tried gambling again, at a poker machine. I lost 8$, but it was not bad because the cost of play was just 15 cents per a game, so I could play many times, and I could stop gambling when I thought I couldn't win.

After that...nothing to do, I did laundry, and went to strip to take pictures of the rest of hotels. I ate dinner at a food court, and read the book at starbucks coffee, I began to like starbucks coffee. And then, I went back to downtown. There was a concert on the street, so I enjoyed the live music for a while, and I went back to the hostel.

Everytime I went back to hostels in Las Vegas, nobody at a room, maybe I played less than other people.

↓Hotel New York New York, a kind of amazing.

Grand Canyon
Today, I got up at 4:30 in the morning but maybe my sleeping time was just 2 or 3 hours because of noise... Anyway, I checked out the hostel and got on the shuttle that took me to the airport.

In this tour, there're only Japanese and English speakers. But every of them was a couple...no chance to make a friend. I felt uncomfortable at that time. But fortunately, after the bus tour, I could be alone because I got free time from 10:30 to 17:30.

When I saw in Grand Canyon for the first time, it was not so good as I expected, still impressive though. I thought Yosemite was better because I saw just one sight in Grand Canyon and I could see a lot of sceneries in Yosemite.

However, after I got free time, I could see a lot of faces of Grand Canyon, and they were so impressive! As I walked on trail, every scenery was different because of the light & shadow of the sun or my views. As the sun or clouds moved, they created different faces of Grand Canyon by making shadows. I was almost cried! The guide said it can prove one third of the history of the earth because the history of stratumta(地層) was over 100 million years! Now I saw the miracle of the earth. There were a lot of points to see nice views, but I liked the sceneries from the trail. I took over 50 pictures, I wanted to take more, but the battery life of my camera was run out. As a total, I walked over 10 km on trails, it was quite hard but it's worth. I regreted I walked too much in Las Vegas.

On the way to Las Vegas, I saw the scenery of Las Vegas from the plane...like New York. 360 degrees was lights, lights, and lights. But outside of Vegas, it was absolutely dark, nothing. I thought Las Vegas is completely unreal world on the desert.

I arrived a new hostel from the airport. I heard the hostel was located near the bus stop of grey hound, but it was not true...quite far. And 6 beds in one dome were too many for me! It disturbed my sleep.

↓Can you understand how wonderful it is through just one picture? I don't think so!

Today, I got up at 10:30 in the morning(!) But I was still sleepy. However, I saw another man who was sleeping at that time, he was from France, and he's been travelling around USA for 1month, and he'll have 2 more months! He's going to Mexico next.

Anyway, I went out, but actually what should I do? First of all, I tried going to a shopping mall outside of the strip. To be honest with you, I've been looking for a hat is suitable for me, but I haven't found it yet, even this time. I was quite disappointed with it.

Today was quite hot, hotter than yesterday, so I decided not to walk. Next,...actually I didn't have any motivation to go somewhere. And I forgot to bring my camera again. But I went to some hotels to look some free shows. And then, I trid going to China town. While waiting for a bus, I was talked by a man who has lived since he was born. He had his own business, and his hobby was to learn advertisement! He let me know how much each advertisement costs in Las Vegas, such as a bus advertising, or neon sign. It was quite interesting and his English was easy to understand.

Finally, I arrived at China town, but the cost of food was very expensive as Chinese restaurant. But I had no choice, so I ate some dishes.

Tomorrow, I'm going to Grand Canyon, so I went to bed early. But actually, I stayed on a couch because I failed to extend my stay...a bit uncomfortable.

Today, I got up at 8:30, such a nice day, but it means it's going to be very hot at the afternoon. I ate breakfast with American man. He was old guy, and had some pills to maintain his health condition, neverthless, he's travelling by himself in the hostel. I respect him.

At day time, I visited Greyhound bus office and the tourist information center to make reservations of bus, accomodation, and a tour for Grand Canyon. Overnight tour was completely full, so I had to chose one day tour. I chose Japanese one, language is not important, but there was no other good choice for me, it was quite expensive though.

And I went to a shopping mall, and a casino on foot. I was looking for a hat is suitable for me, but I finally couldn't find one, oh, poor me. And I bet 20$ for the casino, but I lost money, for sure...shame.

And then, I walked around the strip. Las Vegas was a kind of unreal & fantasy world. There were lots kinds of theme hotels or restaurants, and they had their own shows or attractions for free!(Actually, everything is cheap except gambling) I watched circus, water shows, and a kind of musical, which were good enough. And I tried to go to the pub that the guy I met yesterday recommended me. It was a long way to get a expected place, and I couldn't find it. My foot were like sticks! I was too tired to walk, but I had no choice. I think I'd walked more than 18 km today. Oh, my gosh. I'll do nothing but sleep next morning.

Today, I got up 8:00, and sent post cards and ate early lunch. And at 1 o'clock, I was suppose to take a shuttle bus at Hilton hotel, but it was quite hard to arrive there because I had over 35kg luggages! Oh, my goodness. You know, of course there were a lot of steep slopes, I felt like they're 20 degrees. Finally I walked 1.5km to get there!

It took from 1 p.m to 11 p.m to arrive in Las Vegas. On the way to there, I met 2 British guys, and one Japanese man, who was a driver of the shuttle bus! He'd worked for a tour company, but he quit and now work as a driver. And I tried to converse with British men, but their English was quite fast and different accent from me, so it was very difficult to understand their English.

The sin city hostel, the room was large enough as a dome for 4 people. There were 2 Austrarian and 1 American. Austrarian were suppose to leave tomorrow, and American was going to attend a convention of Kerry. I got some information about Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.

And I just went to bed, but in and out of the people was quite often in my room, so I couldn't sleep well!
